Manufacturers and die & mold shops can exclude chatter problems in various milling operations with Iscar's brand new Chatterfree carbide end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. This permits faster cutting and smoother finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, users also report greater edge life due to decreased chatter. The chatter-free feature is attainable in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's Multi-Master replaceable-tip family. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for Multi-Master tips. These brand new endmills are ideal for reduced power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide version can conduct full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capacity on the replaceable-tip version is more moderate since the active length is shorter. In full slotting applications on alloy steel, the solid carbide construction conveniently handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.
Finishred - Brand New Solid Carbide Endmills
Iscar is introducing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide end mills family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a blending of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more rapidly and competently than classical endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. In consequence, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill has to be used in order to attain a smooth surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of maintaining two endmill types in the inventory.
Capabilities of the Finishred Endmills:
The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills present 4 flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and two continuous flutes.
The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially further from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes banish the grooves produced by the roughing flutes, leaving a smooth surface finish.
The tool is fully functional and facilitates running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.
The distinctive tool design reduces vibration at high load applications.
The tool creates short and long chips together. This chip mixture is evacuated more quickly than each individual chip type, an excellent solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.
The Finishred is also offered with the Multi-Master indexable milling head selection which incorporates the Finishred includes with the advantage of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the wide range of shank and extension choices are presented for the Multi-Master milling heads.
A single tool incorporates the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore lowering inventory.
Tool change and setup time can be omitted.
An extra tool position is gained on the machine
New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for Increased Metal Removal Rates
ISCAR is releasing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The revolutionary endmills are obtainable with 3 and four 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with lessened neck diameter, which help machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting element and force distribution can be used very effectually on low power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge incorperates flat peaks which leave a superior surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher carbide endmills. The ECP endmills are favored for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be utilized on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at various customers' locations showed striking results.
Brand New Tools And Carbide Insert Arrangements From Iscar To Better Enhance The Machining Process
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.
Iscar Releases A Revolutionary Line Of Slitting Cutters Applying Tang-Grip Technology And The Sturdiness Of Sumo Tec Grades
Iscar now offers a family of high-performance slitting tools that combine the convenience and security of Tang-Grip clamping with the added durability of the new Sumo Tec insert grades. The concept, already proven successful in Tang-Grip parting tools, has now been extended to slitting cutters.
A Few Of Improvements In Carbide Inserts Provided By Iscar Over The Former Decade
Iscar is announcing a brand new unique milling system that includes tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, decreased cutting forces resulting in better performance.
