Doing that would save the students money and allow them to access the books from any computer in the school. This meant that you never had to carry around your textbooks - a major advantage after a semester of trudging through the snow.

At first, I was not very into books online. I could not get into the experience, you see. It just did not feel right to me. I like to be able to relax with a book, holding it in my hands and turning the pages. I could tell where things were spatially and remember the pages by their position. With the book online, you can't do any of these things. It strains your eyes, calls for you to sit upright in the same position for hour after hour, and is very hard to flip your way through. I also like audio books on CD, though.

After a few years of online book reading, however, I was much more used to the technique, just like I had gotten used to audio books. I had already begun to buy books online for almost every use. I bought sports books online, textbooks online - you think of it. Not only did the internet allow me to buy printed books cheaply, but it also allowed me to access many things that were out of print.

Reading books online is not really that good for contemporary literature that you can buy in the store. You may as well either buy it or take it out of the library, or listen to it, with books on cd. The cool thing about books online, however, is that you can often find very old ones with very little trouble. Resources such as Project Gutenberg allow you to access the great classics of writing from all places and times around the world. As long as it's no longer copy protected, you can legally put the book online.

Of course, the area where books online have the best benefit of all is with audio books. The great thing about audio books online is that it's so much more convenient than having to take them out of the library or go to an audio publication store. Instead, you can simply download them to your computer and listen to them at your leisure. If you want to take them with you, you can put them on an iPod or put them onto CD. Audio books online make a lot of sense.
